Great turnout for ZooBrew last night!

Nearly 1,500 of you came out to celebrate the weekend last night at our second ZooBrew of the summer! The weather was in our favor and everyone seemed to be having a great time, listening to live music from Park Ave Band, enjoying drinks and food and of course, the animals! We also had 98.9 The Buzz on site raffling off tickets and talking about the event on the air.

If you didn’t get a chance to make it down last night, our next ZooBrew will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 22, with live music from Natural Groove Band! Step out of the normal bar scene and spend a Friday in a unique way – at the Zoo!

Discover Madagascar next weekend

Seneca Park Zoo is home to many species native to Madagascar, a land of amazing biological diversity. Join us in celebration of Madagascar’s Independence Day during Discover Madagascar Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 25. Learn all about this country’s people and very special wildlife.

During this year’s event, we will be talking about the five reasons to save lemurs along with the message of the amazing animals in this country, why they are endangered and what the Zoo is doing to help. There will be face painting, an international white elephant marketplace along with docent touch table stations, games and puzzles. Mark your calendars for this unique event!

Happy Birthday, Flounder and Puff!

Visitors got an extra special treat during our scheduled Sea Lion Feeding (part of our Summer Programs) on Saturday (June 11) – Flounder celebrated his 20th birthday, while the young Puff turned 5.

Puff and Flounder were given birthday treats and everyone joined in to sing “Happy Birthday” to them! Kids also got some treats, but had to get them with their “flippers” like Puff and Flounder would!
